About Nic Brown

I’m a goal-driven, technically deep IT professional with over twenty-five years of broad-based experience in the information technology field. I lead with strong technical acumen and solid leadership skills, which has meant successfully closing out complex technical projects on time, at high quality, and on budget.

I started young, tearing apart computers and messing with operating systems before I knew what a career in IT even looked like. Twenty-five years later, I’m the Executive Director for an entity that provides technology and other services to public school districts and government agencies. Day to day, I lead a great team that acts as “the IT department” for the K-12 public school districts and government agencies we serve, and I provide additional consulting to a handful of companies and churches in my area.

I’ve led and trained top-performing technical teams focused on fast issue resolution and real client satisfaction, and I’m known for simplifying work through automation and the right tools instead of brute force. When I’m not doing that, I write the occasional database to solve a real problem, and I enjoy photography, drones, and golf.

What I care about most, though, is leadership: mentoring people and helping them grow into the kind of leaders their teams need. It’s the best part of my day job. I try to live by a simple mantra:

I will be a leader who cares about people. I will be a leader that always brings my best. I will be a leader that lifts lids for those on my team. I am a leader who leads by example.
